About Victrola Coffee Roasters:
From the beginning, Victrola, named for the popular home phonograph of the 1920′s, embraced the liveliness, exuberance and fun of the Jazz era. In our popular imagination the roaring 20′s represent excess, prohibition, flappers, and speakeasies. The era’s fingerprints mark much of what we do, from our passion for live vintage jazz to our cafes unique architectural charm.
When Victrola opened in 2000, the little 15th Avenue neighborhood had a big need. The community not only lacked great coffee it also had few great spaces to hang out or to meet friends. The cafe was so popular after only a year we doubled our space, taking over the storefront next door. In 2003, we took a huge step and began roasting our own coffee in the tiny back room of our café on 15th. In the cramped back room we spent countless hours experimenting with roast profiles and blends for our espresso. Early on, we committed ourselves to the task of sourcing, roasting, and preparing the finest coffees available. Since then, innovation has marked our roasting operations and coffee preparation.
In 2007, we cut the ribbon on Victrola’s showcase cafe, located in an old 1920′s auto row building just off downtown at the base of Capitol Hill, complete with our roastery, training facility and cupping room. This beautiful cafe is an exceptional place to learn more about coffee at a tasting, watch the roasting process, or simply enjoy a great book.
In 2009 Victrola acquired a great neighborhood cafe just down from the Library and light rail station on Beacon Hill. This cute little space reflects the comfort, passion for quality, quirkiness and community feel that characterizes all of Victrola’s cafes.
Now, as Victrola moves into a second decade, we look forward to new opportunities to fuel our passion and show our exuberance. We are actively seeking out new neighborhoods to share our great coffee and community space with, new partners to serve our coffee, and new and deepened relationships with farmers and producers.
After a successful rollout in western and upstate New York last year, Bell’s beer has finally arrived in New York City. To welcome them to our fair city on Feb. 10, 2014, Nolita Mart will be carrying seven of their delicious brews. We have on our shelves and in the beer fridge Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, Smitten Golden Rye, Hopslam Ale, Midwest Pale Ale, Amber Ale, Porter, and Kalamazoo in 12oz bottle six-packs.

Owl’s Brew will be at Nolita Mart once again on Feb. 8, from 2-4pm to demo their delicious tea based cocktail mixers.
Owl’s Brew is a line of “teas crafted for cocktails” that are:
-fresh-brewed from real, whole spices, fruits & herbs
-1/3 the calories of comparable cocktails
-brewed with purified water
-sweetened with all natural agave
They contain no artificial flavors nor concentrates.
The Bronx Brewery will be at Nolita Mart pouring samples of their finest brews from our Growler-fill Station on Saturday, January 25 from 4pm-6pm. We will also have delicious bites to go with the beer provided by Artisanal Premium Cheese and Rick’s Picks Pickles.

After almost a year, this amazing sauce has found it’s way from Montreal, Canada onto our shelves. La Salsa della Nonna, or Grandma’s Tomato Sauce, is handmade in small batches in the Mile End section of Montreal, Canada. Chef Franco Gattuso follows his Sicilian grandmother’s family recipes and uses all natural ingredients; it does not contain any preservatives whatsoever. The sauce is also made with unprocessed olive oil from Oliveto in the Calabria region of Italy.
The Nolita Mart & Espresso Gift Baskets are back. This year we have four different “flavors” to choose from: Cocoa Greetings, the chocolate basket; Snack Pack, the snack basket; Holiday Roast, the coffee basket; and Tea Time, the tea basket. Cocktail mixers done differently. Cocktail Crate mixers are crafted in small batches with whole, fresh, and organic ingredients and locally hand made in Long Island City, New York. They are also very simple to use; just add ice and your favorite spirit. There’s also the option of using seltzer water instead of spirits to mix up some very tasty sodas. You can find three flavors of Cocktail Crate (Lavender Bloom, Ginger Bee, Smoky Hops) in our Mixology section.

At Cocktail Crate, we use only whole, fresh, and organic ingredients to flavor our mixers.
To sweeten them, we use local wildflower honey and organic cane sugar.
We think that by taking high quality ingredients and developing recipes that bring out the best in them, we can craft mixers that make serving great tasting cocktails as simple as combining mixer, spirit, and ice.

They’re Back! We will be holding a Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream Demo at Nolita Mart & Espresso Bar once again. Anna from Jeni’s will be doling out free delicious ice cream at the store on Saturday, September 21 from 1pm to 5pm.
